Trauma and post-trauma symptoms occur when our natural instincts to protect, defend, and safely escape a threat are compromised. 

Trauma is the state of arousal energy being stuck in our nervous system.

 

The path to healing requires the safe discharge of this energy through natural instinctive processes. 

However, the human neo-cortex often creates inhibition to this discharge process. 

In this workshop, you will begin to release inhibitions and unlock healing by natural design. 

If you are a wellness practitioner, someone with post-trauma symptoms, or someone who wishes to be more educated on how to decrease the detriment of trauma in our world, this training is for you.

Survival Responses

 

Survival responses include fight-or-flight, freeze/immobilization, attach/cry-for-help, please/appease, and collapse/submit. 

By understanding the ecological function of these responses, we can unlock healing by natural design. 

The Core Wound
 

The subconscious mind is responsible for over 90% of our perceptions, beliefs, feelings of self-worth, and the way we show up in all relationships. 

Demystify your subconscious to release the beliefs that reinforce your core wounds and keep you stuck in trauma and survival responses. 

The Body's Story

 

The body holds the stories of our lives. Postures and movement patterns are often protective responses, holding trauma intact. 

Skillfully approach bodily sensations, postural habits, and movement patterns as intuitive messengers and instinctual cues, and   embody a new reality. 

Therapeutic Movement

 

This movement practice uses clinically proven methods for traumatic recovery including aspects of acupressure, sensorimotor therapy, Primal Vinyasa®, and somatic journeying.

 

The sequence will be customized to meet your needs. 

You will not be guided into personal triggers or asked to share uncomfortable information with the group. This is an informative, guided, introspective experience rooted in trauma-informed therapeutic approaches to keep the space neutral, safe, and private.

This workshop is customized to meet the needs and goals of each participant.

This training is guided by Amanda Blain, who specializes in yogic psychology and trauma-informed therapeutic approaches through the National Institute for the Clinical Application of Behavioral Medicine and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. Amanda is also a functional and therapeutic movement coach certified in Primal Vinyasa® and Tantric Hatha.
