You Know It's Time for Change

When you know, you know...

Since moving to Guatemala, culture shock has been the only way to spend the day.

For some reason beyond explanation, when I first heard of this place called Lake Atitlán, the hairs on my arms stood up. In fact (and you’ll think I’m crazy for this) I heard a voice inside of me say, “come home.”

Typically, when searching for a forever home, most people ask, “what can this place do for us?” and “what does this place have to offer that will keep me comfortable?”

But here on the lake, we cannot access the mist of the rainforest or the tremor of the volcanoes, or the tenacity of the waterfalls, without being exposed to harsh and disappointing real life along the way.

Here, “taking the scenic route” means you see it all … including bottles of poisonous glyphosate washing up on the beaches (many of them were FREE handouts from American donors who were “trying to help").

That’s the stuff that sends me right over the top. That's when all of my spiritual "be one with everything" flies right out the window ...

To think... that many highly educated decision makers decided that killing biodiversity with poison would help us feed the world ... and that NONE OF US got to CONSENT to that first. None of us.

And as much as I’d like to rant on and on about how heartbreaking and maddening this is – that these decisions have destroyed the majority of the world’s topsoil in just a few decades, raping the soil of its natural-born function of pulling carbon from the atmosphere and using it for nutrition– I’m not going to do that. I’m not going to get you all worked up and feeling helpless.

Instead, I’m going to tell you that I know you’re going through radical change in your life right now.

I know your foundation feels unsteady and uncertain, and that your world views are changing.

That you’ve been looking in the mirror asking who you really are and what you can possibly do to make a difference in the grim situation on this planet.

I’m also going to tell you that the reason you’re asking these questions is because you know … YOU KNOW… beyond explanation… (just like I knew when that voice inside me said “come home to Guatemala”) …

You know that you are alive in this pivotal time for a VERY SPECIFIC REASON.

That you care so deeply about the trajectory of our planet because you’re in touch with a part of your humanity that many of our world leaders have detached from.

You’re meant to feel ALL of the emotions you’re feeling right now … because those emotions are going to show you exactly who you came to this planet to be.

I’m not telling you that your role as a parent or a spouse or a corporate executive or CEO are unimportant. I’m telling you there’s even more.

Before you were any of those things, you arrived on this planet as a natural member of the ecosystem … and you were born with an ecological purpose.

Deep inside my bones, I know that my purpose was NOT to be part of a narrow-sighted species that over-consumed itself into extinction (and took thousands - or millions of other species along with it).

I know that NONE OF US READING THIS RIGHT NOW MADE THE DECISIONS TO MAKE THE PLASTIC OR MANUFACTURE THE CHEMICALS OR KILL THE TREES AND DEPOPULATE THE BEES.

No, WE showed up to help turn the ship around!!!

And Psyche Body Soul is about to roll out some new programs to help us all do that by:

  • Undoing the damage that stress has done to your psyche and body

  • Making radical life change, and...

  • Widening your life mission to include planetary health and regeneration.

We’re going to be part of a paradigm shift as a community … across the globe.

The other day, I was talking to my friend, TryGive, in South Africa.

In the past ten years, he has trained over 400 families how to grow their own organic food and medicine.

They have turned drought land into biodiverse soil that helps sequester carbon from the atmosphere … and DID YOU KNOW THAT CAN HELP REVERSE CLIMATE CHANGE? (It’s science).

Now, 1000s of people in his community have economic stability, food independence, and autonomy that did not exist for them before identifying their local resources and collaborating with their neighbors.

You’ll be hearing from TryGive in upcoming videos and newsletters, so stay tuned as we begin to unleash our wider purpose here at Psyche Body Soul .... I'm so happy that you’re a part of it!

Press play on the video below for more inspirational juice, and I’ll be back with you soon.

Heart & Soul,

Amanda
